Who we are

In our historical moment, one undeniable certainty persists: The absence of a left hegemony binds the vanguard forces of anti-imperialism and anti-capitalism. The hegemony of late capitalism, upheld by the coercive apparatus of imperialist militarism, has fostered significant hopelessness among the intellectuals that is rooted in a lack of political value.

The Locomotive is conceived among those radical voices that continue to center the struggle against capitalism and imperialism. We seek to endure under their protection and to amplify the voices of those who aspire to be part of this resistance.

We contend that the intellectual currents of the twentieth-century bourgeoisie have profoundly shaped contemporary thought—most notably in the transformation of academic discourse—thereby constraining radical forces within the institutional domain. We endeavor to convene the voices of critics who engage with contemporary events through the lens of critical Marxism. By curating an array of critical interventions—spanning articles, poetry, photography, interviews, and video content—we strive to foster a dynamic intellectual collective. Through our platform, both online and in print, we invite all comrades to contribute and partake in this shared commitment to critique, resistance, and revolutionary solidarity.
